Norma Bennett Bowles, 67, a former Raleigh County resident, died Friday, Nov. 9th, 2018 in Huntsville, Ala., after a long illness. Norma Lee Bennett was born July 19th, 1951 in Hinton Hospital, Summers County, W.Va. She was a daughter of Percy Bennett and Nina Arabell Vest Bennett of Abraham, Raleigh County, W.Va. Norma was a 1968 graduate of Richmond High School in Raleigh County. She was the class salutatorian. After graduation, Norma worked as a clerk for the FBI in Washington, D.C. and then returned home to Raleigh County. She was a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Abraham, W,Va. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather Lafon Worley; her son Jody Dunbar; and two foster brothers, Omar “Terry” Plumley and Vincent George “Vinnie” Plumley. Norma is survived by her son Jerry Dunbar and daughter-in-law Young ok Kim, and her son Wade Bowles, all of Madison, AL. Funeral arrangements are pending.
