Brenda Drape

Brenda Yi Drape, 69, passed away on November 14, 2018 in Huntsville, AL.

Brenda was born on March 23, 1949 to Su Yong Yi and Sun Yi Chae in Po’un, South Korea. She is survived by her son Terry Drape, daughter Krystine Drape-Manley and 3 grandchildren Asya, Dylan and Jayda.

Brenda was the only daughter born, the youngest of 5 children. Her family survived the hardships of the Korean War and vowed to always make family their priority.

In 1968, Brenda met her soulmate, Larry Drape, and later married in 1970. They understood the challenges of their cultural differences and language barriers but remained determined to teach one another. Their strong will and love carried them through 48 years of marriage. After raising 2 children and sharing the lives of 3 grandchildren, Brenda realized that she had never stopped learning or teaching.

Brenda was a very patient wife to a military soldier, the most loving mother to her children and the proudest of grandmothers. She has taught us to always have a caring heart and a willing hand.

Mom has molded us to who we are today and there are no words to express how much she will always be loved and deeply missed.
