David Pierson

David R. Pierson, 76, of San Antonio Texas passed away on June 28, 2019 in Madison, Alabama.

There will be a private family memorial service held on July 3rd in Huntsville Alabama.  At the wishes of David and his family, he will be cremated and there will not be a visitation or public funeral service. 

David was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to Rowland Pierson and Kathryn Stultz on January 27th, 1943.  His first marriage was to Kris Swearengin for 28 years.  Kris is also the mother of his two children Daniel Pierson and Kimberly Morriss.  His second marriage was to Jan Rose for 13 years. 

David devoted his career to public service, most of which was spent as a juvenile probation officer working with troubled kids.  He always enjoyed working with kids of all ages.  Outside of work, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with family. 

David’s death was preceded by his parents and second wife.

David is survived by his sister Ann, brother in-law Joe, son Dan, daughter in-law Becky, daughter Kim, son in-law Kevin, grandchildren Taylor, Megan, Sarah, Klayton, Kailyn, and Kacie, grandchildren in-law Nick and Darby, and great grandchild Theo.

His family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Merrell Gardens nurses, staff, and residents who always made him feel wanted and happy in their community, Madison emergency personnel, Madison Dr’s and nurses, his local Dr’s, and Legacy Chapel funeral home.
