Henry Chilton Smith

September 18, 1926 — November 30, 2019

Henry C. Smith, 93 years old of Madison, Alabama went home to be with our Savior on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Nix Smith. Henry served in WWII as a Mechanic, in the Philippines. He retired after 26 years with SCI.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Smith and wife Amanda. Grandchildren, Matt Smith (Jessica), Mandy Hunter, Alaina Wilson (Tyler) and Drew Smith (Miranda). Great Grandchildren, Tess, Taite and Teague Smith, Madison, Luke and Jacob Hunter, Talan and Asher Wilson and Lincoln Smith with many friends and family whose life he touched. His kindness, generosity and living Christian spirit served as an inspiration to everyone that knew him.

A Celebration of Henry’s life will be held on December 4, 2019 at Providence Baptist Church (1355 Douglas Blvd, Hsv. AL. 35806) Visitation will be held from 12PM-2PM with the service following. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Matt Smith, Drew Smith. Tyler Wilson, James D. Smith, Billy Smith, Greg Nix, and Brett Nix.

Henry loved his church and was a dedicated member of providence Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully asks that you consider making a donation to the building fund at providence Baptist.
