William James Kinney

Bill passed from this life December 24, 2019.

He was born July 22, 1936, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to American parents, who moved to the North Alabama area in the 1950’s.

He served his country, for two years in U. S. Army.

While working at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, as an Electronic Technician, Bill pursued his degree in Accounting from Athens College.  After earning his degree, he left NASA to open his own public accounting practice, W. J. Kinney & Company, Inc.  

Bill is survived by: His beloved wife, Linda Hampton Kinney;

Son: William J. (Jim) Kinney, Jr. (Kerri)

Daughters: Donna Martin (Larry Pack);  Cindy Kinney; and Melanie Page

Grandchildren:

 Megan Hargraves (Sean);    Jamie Mayes (Jason); 

Christa Page (Matt);   Andy Page (Bevin); Alissa Mae Kinney

And three great-grandchildren;

Sisters:  Mary Beckman; Margaret Travis & Rose Mullins

And several nieces and nephews.

Bill enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison and the family requests that donations may be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
