Lloyd McCray Zett

February 26, 1924 — December 11, 2020

On Friday, December 11, 2020, Lloyd Mc Cray Zett (Buck), of Madison, AL, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 96.  Lloyd was born February 26, 1924 in Loretta, WI to Mike and Florence (Wilson) Zett.  He graduated Draper High School in 1942.  Upon graduation he joined the Army Air Corp. serving in WWII as an Airplane Mechanic in Nome, Alaska. He was also a trucking dispatcher with Specter Trucking before retiring in FL.  

He married the love of his life, Catherine, in 1958.  Together they raised 3 boys, the late Robert Zett, SR (Patricia), the late Donald  Zett (Karen), and Keith Peterson.  They have 6 grandchildren, Robert Zett, JR, Lisa Zett, Linda Gogliotti (Jan), Cathy Topolski (Jeff), Renee Gentry (Paul), and Keith Peterson, JR and 6 great-grandchildren, Robert III, Ashley, Tyler, Cody, Matthew, and Brayden.  He is preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence (Marianne), Charles (Alberta), Marvin (May), Roy (Mary Ann), Richard (Nancy), Robert (Marlene) and sisters, Violet (Don), Myrtle (Pete).  Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

He had a passion for bowling, golf, sports of any kind, avid Packers & Chicago Cubs fan, a love for animals and member of the Elks & American Legion.  He was known for his quick with, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.  He was loved and will be missed by many.

He will be laid to rest with his wife in Florida.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society.
