Stephen William Berg

October 14, 1960 — July 22, 2021

Stephen William Berg, 60, of Madison, AL, passed away July 22, 2021. Steve Berg, age 60, passed away in his home in Madison, Alabama. Steve was most proud of being a father to his two sons who he loved very much - Kaleb, age 22 and Joshua, age 18. Steve enjoyed many trips with Kaleb and Joshua and his most precious memories were of spending time with them in Anna Maria Island, FL. He loved the beach, fishing and exploring with his boys. He had recently moved from the Central Florida area to Northern Alabama to be closer to Kaleb and Joshua. Steve was born in Milwaukee, WI and was the third child of Bill and Sheila’s five Berg kids. Steve’s parents and his youngest sister, Mary Kay, preceded him in death. Mike and Patti Berg are Steve’s older siblings and Lori Berg Anderson, his younger sister. Steve and Patti were particularly close and shared many great times and a whole lot of laughs together. Coming from Wisconsin, Steve was an avid Green Bay Packer fan! In his youth, he played football, baseball, basketball and golf and has always enjoyed following his favorite teams. Steve was currently retired from a long career at Lockheed Martin. Although he had many health struggles, Steve was quite the fighter and his tenacity brought him through trials that most couldn’t have endured. But that was Steve and he was very much loved by his extended family in Wisconsin, his many friends from Pine Hills in Orlando where he grew up, his work partners at Lockheed Martin and treasured friends like Tom Kennedy who was Steve’s long time mentor and like a brother to him. Memorial plans are pending with intention to coordinate a beach gathering to celebrate Steve in the future. Steve had a keen eye for a flashy Corvette and owned 4 during his lifetime. In lieu of flowers, Steve would rather that you get yourself a Corvette and enjoy life’s ride.
