June McCarthy Landry, daughter of Cpt. Edward Robert and Pauline McCarthy was born in Phenix City, AL on October 29th, 1930.  From a young age, she had a passion for dancing that culminated into a successful career.  After studying dance in New York and attending the Corry and Conrad School of Dance in Atlanta, Georgia, she became a member of the Dance Masters of America-catapulting her professional path. June then owned and operated the "June McCarthy School of Dance" with four locations in the states of Alabama and Georgia, allowing her to share the art of dance with younger generations.  Around this time, June met and then later married the love of her life, Norman F. Landry on November 22, 1962 They moved to Huntsville, AL in 1965, where they raised a family and remained happily married for forty-seven years until Norman's death in 2006.  June continued her love of dance by choreographing and teaching dance at the Huntsville Senior Center and competing with regional line dancing groups.  She danced her way into the heart of friends at Merrill Gardens in Madison, AL where she lived from November 2018 until her death. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Landry and grandson, James Edward Williams III. She is survived by her sister, Joyce B. Gibbs of Slidell, LA, her two daughters, DeLisa Locke  (Morris Locke III) of Madison, AL, Mari Orr (George "Skip" Orr, Jr.) of Panama City Beach, FL, and her beloved cousins Keith Calloway and Grant Calloway. June was a beloved grandmother to her six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Word (Jacob Word), Megan Vickers  (Camron Musgrove), Jesse Brill, Kassidy Locke, Elijah Brill, and Kamryn Locke. She danced her way into Heaven at the age of ninety on August 3rd, 2021 with loved ones by her side.
