James Harold "Jimmy" Amburgey Jr.

May 30, 1985 — August 31, 2021

James "Jimmy" Harold Amburgey, Jr. (aka Little Jimmy & Big Country) was born May 30, 1985 in Wise, VA and passed away peacefully August 31st, 2021 at the age of 36 with his loving mom by his side.  He had a gentle heart, amazing smile, and did not have a mean bone in his body.  He was the type of guy who loved life.  Jimmy was born in Southwest Virginia and moved to Maryland at the age of 9. He lived there until his recent move to Alabama to be with his loving family.

He loved fishing, hunting, and guns. He was a fan of Alabama football, Redskin football, Orioles Baseball, and a fan of all sports. He was a big movie buff and had a special love of animals.  He just loved life and spending time with his many family & friends especially (Jon, Krys & Rogers family).  He was devoted to his nieces Abigail & Adalynn and nephew Liam and enjoyed taking them to sports & dance.  He was the best Uncle you could ask for.

He was a graduate of Southern High School in Lothian, MD class of 2003.  He got his nickname "Big Country" while playing football there. He was # 68.  His nephew Liam will now proudly wear that # on his football jersey.

He was preceded in death by his father James H. Amburgey, Sr. and his grandparents Robert & Theresa Campbell & Harold & Nancy Amburgey.

He leaves behind his loving & devoted mother Joyce Campbell Amburgey (Companion Jeff), his sister & brother In law Jessica and David Steele, nieces Abigail & Adalynn, nephew Liam, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

James will be brought to his resting place in Abingdon, VA on the family farm to be with his Daddy.  Celebration of Life will be on October 10th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at The Deale Elks's Lodge 2528 on 6022 Drum Point Rd. Deale, MD 20751. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA of your choice in Jimmy's name.
