Jason Kenneth Jesunas

January 4, 1975 — January 20, 2022

Jason Kenneth Jesunas passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, on January 20, 2022. He was 47.

Jason was born on January 4, 1975, to Dr. Kenneth and Carolyn Jesunas. He was raised in Lemont, IL. The Jesunas family prioritized travel, so Jason had the privilege of experiencing more of this world than most. He grew up in a loving home and developed cherished friendships throughout his childhood that continued long into adulthood.

Jason married Katie McBride on May 11, 2013. In early 2015, Jason received a job offer from LG Electronics, which required a move to Alabama. Jason, Katie, and their children have made Madison, AL their home for the past seven years. Jason loved the south, and he became a diehard Alabama football fan from the moment he crossed the border. Roll Tide!

When it came to being a father and husband, you simply could not find better than Jason. He genuinely enjoyed spending time with his family. He declared Finley a genius almost immediately following her birth, and he was amused (and a bit terrified) to discover that William is a carbon copy of himself. Jason was always looking for ways to make Katie’s life easier, and he was truly her most supportive and loyal best friend.

Jason was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive cancer in April 2021. He fought with dignity and strength until the very end. He never wanted to leave his family, and the thought of it absolutely broke his heart. Our family will move forward with a hole that can never be filled. We take comfort in our belief that we will be reunited someday.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents Sophie Jesunas, Emmett and Electa Carr. He is survived by his heartbroken wife, Katie Jesunas; daughter Finley Jesunas; son William Jesunas; parents Ken and Carolyn Jesunas; sister Jocelyn Jesunas (Scott Arpin); in-laws Bill and Bette McBride, and many other special family members, friends, and co-workers.

Instead of sending flowers, the family would be honored if you spent some extra special quality time with the people you love most, as Jason would have done.
