Susan Hanna Smith 1959 – 2022
Madison, AL – Susan died peacefully in the arms of her husband on January 30 after a lengthy illness.
Fearless, funny, fascinating, and occasionally infuriating she met whatever life brought, from barrel racing on a horse named Freckles to raising a teenage son, with strength and determination. And she faced her illness the same way, holding on for over twice as long as her doctors expected.
A warrior with a megawatt smile, she was always ready to take on the world and spit in its eye. Proudly self-labeled as an Obstreperous Wench she was deeply loved exactly as she was, and is sorely missed by her husband Jeremy, son Liam, daughter-in-law Amanda, and granddaughter Molly.
