Diane Jenkins Gurney

Diane Gurney, of Madison, Alabama, went to heaven on May 28, 2022 @ 9:50 AM. She died peacefully at Huntsville Hospital with her husband, Jerry Gurney, and daughters, Mindy Edge and Deborah Shuler, at her side.
She was born in Meridian, Mississippi on December 30, 1943. Diane graduated from Athens State and received a bachelor’s degree in business. She and her husband’s 60th wedding anniversary was upcoming on December 26, 2022.
She was a loyal, responsible, and caring wife, mother/grandmother, and sister. She was interested in everything regarding her family. She braved a kayaking trip recently and loved it. She enjoyed walks on Monte Sano and Green Mountain. She loved to travel for new experiences. She loved her dog, Lady. But mostly, family and church family brought much joy to Diane.
Diane is survived by her husband Jerry Gurney; daughters, Mindy Edge (Taylor Edge) and Deborah Shuler (Dale Shuler); her brothers Wayne and James Jenkins; and grandchildren Stuart Edge, Austin Edge, Miles Cloer, and Savannah Conder.
She was preceded by her son, Bo Gurney.
Funeral arrangements include a visitation from 2:00-3:00PM with service to follow at 3:00. Diane’s only son, Bo Gurney, went to heaven on February 29, 2008. Her wishes were to have her ashes scattered at the same location as Bo on the Tennessee River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital, Diane’s favorite charity.
