Martha Anne Swanner

Martha Anne Royals Swanner passed away peacefully at home Dec. 5th, 2022 surrounded by her two daughters. She was born to Willie Gene Royals and Margaret Harrison Royals on August 7th, 1946 in Sylacauga, AL. 

She was survived by her daughters Kristy Swanner (Mark), Carrie Swanner Moultrie (Sean), her grandchildren Brooklyn and Caden Swanner and Camden and Lucy Moultrie, two brothers, Bobby Royal, and Charles (Bo) Royals. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Billy Royals.

Martha was a homemaker for many years, she took great pride in her home and flower gardens. She always had the most beautiful flowers even during her battle of stage 4 breast cancer, she worked hard to maintain her home and flowers on her own. She was fiercely strong and independent. Her love for her family was immense and she cherished her role as "Mawmaw" to her four grandchildren whom each had their own special bond with her. She loved to decorate her home with Christmas time being her most favorite time of the year, and because of her faith in Jesus this will no doubt be her most glorious Christmas with Him. Family meant so much to her and she spent years researching her family ancestry and documented it for generations to come. She retired from Steelcase in 2010.

Visitation will be Thursday Dec. 8th, 2022 at Legacy Chapel in Madison, AL. Visitation will be from 2 to 4pm with service beginning at 4pm with Pastor Spencer Hardiman officiating.
