Abdul Alim Flowers

March 17, 1994 — October 30, 2025

Harvest

Abdul-Alim Flowers, beloved by all who knew him as Alim, passed away on October 29, 2025, after courageously battling stage 4 cancer. He was 31 years old. Alim leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of love, activism, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Born on March 17, 1994, in Woodridge, Virginia, to Bridgette Dunn and Aaron Flowers, Alim grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, where he became deeply rooted in his community. A proud graduate of Madison County High School, where he was crowned prom king, Alim went on to attend the University of Alabama—forever bleeding Crimson Tide red.

As a passionate political organizer and operations manager, Alim dedicated his career to grassroots activism and community empowerment. He brought his infectious energy and strategic mind to numerous campaigns, including the Bernie Sanders Presidential Campaign and Friends of Sherrod Brown. His commitment to engaging everyday people in the political process was matched only by his genuine belief that change happens when communities come together. Every campaign, every cause, every conversation was approached with the same authenticity and positivity that made Alim who he was.

Yet those who knew Alim best will tell you that his professional accomplishments, impressive as they were, paled in comparison to the light he brought into people's lives. He was a devoted son, protective and loving older brother, and the ultimate uncle to his cherished niece and nephews—Ariana Grace, Ahmeer Amoore, Amari Sun, Lewis Anthony, and Carter Fitzgerald—whose laughter and joy were his greatest rewards.

Alim lived fully and authentically. He could be found at music festivals with his arms wide open, on the river casting a line or piloting a boat with friends, or passionately defending the Lakers to anyone who would listen. His warmth and charisma didn't just light up rooms—they transformed them. His selflessness and kindness weren't occasional gestures but the foundation of who he was. He cared deeply about the wellbeing of others and the future of his country, and he acted on that care every single day.

Alim is survived by his parents, Bridgette Dunn and Aaron Flowers; his siblings, Antwoine Flowers, Aaliyah Flowers, and Asia Flowers; his beloved nieces and nephews; and a vast community of friends whose lives are forever changed because they knew him.
