Angela Marie Mooney, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama following complications from an open heart surgery where she was loved and cared for by her husband, Aunt Cathy as well as other family members and friends. Born on June 15, 1977, in Tacoma, Washington to William and Judy Pennington. Angela leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Angela pursued a passion for education, starting as a French teacher at Discovery and Liberty Middle Schools before moving to Bob Jones High School in 2003. At Bob Jones High School, she not only shared her love for the French language but also served as the department chair for many years. Angela's dedication to her students extended beyond the classroom as she took on the role of faculty representative for the BJHS Boys Soccer team.

Angela's academic journey was marked by notable achievements. She graduated from SR Butler High School in 1995 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in International Business. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Auburn University where she obtained a Masters Degree in International Business before furthering her education at UAB with a Masters in Education.

Those who knew Angela will always remember her warm and welcoming nature. She had an infectious smile and laughter that could brighten anyone's day. Her capacity for empathy and compassion made her fiercely protective of her family, friends, and students. Angela's inner strength was unparalleled, and she always stood up for those who needed a voice.

Angela found joy in spending time with her family during the holidays and cherished every moment with them. She is survived by her loving husband Chris, her son Logan, daughters Brianna and Kendall, as well as her sister Tabitha and brother-in-law Chris. Her nieces Kaitlyn and Addison, nephew Brandon, mother Judy, father William, stepmother Barbara, father-in-law James, Jim (Jim-in-law), mother-in-law Dianne, brother-in-law Clay along with his wife and kids also mourn her loss. 

In addition to her dedicated approach to teaching and nurturing her family bonds which she held dearly as some of her proudest accomplishments; Angela also had a passion for reading and traveling.

Angela Marie Mooney will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of many as they continue to be inspired by her unwavering love and kindness.

May she rest in peace.
