Benjamin Arthur Spears

Benjamin Arthur Spears, 61, of Madison, Alabama died peacefully at Vanderbilt Hospital on September 26, 2023 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Lolita Spears and two daughters Alana and Carol Spears. Benjamin Spears was a Veteran of the United States Army and still continued to serve even after his retirement. He was dedicated, passionate, and loyal to his country and family. He was born in Dallas, Texas and got his Masters Degree at the University of Texas at Austin. He was in the ROTC program and then proceeded to take huge steps in his military career. He served in the 1st Gulf War and OIF 1. He moved to many places and traveled the world during and after his Military career. After retirement in 2004, he continued to work for the U.S. Army as a civilian until he passed away. He was an amazing husband and father who gave his girls the world no matter what. He will be greatly missed by many and he was so loved by everyone in his life. A memorial service is planned for October 19, 2023 at 12p.m. at Bicentennial Chapel on Redstone Arsenal.
