Curtis Michael Vest

Curtis Michael Vest, 44, of Madison, AL passed away unexpectedly on November 21. Curtis was a graduate of Bob Jones High School and Auburn University.

To his friends, Curtis was known for his quick wit and tenacious devotion to the things—and people—he cared about most. He was a passionate Auburn sports fan, rarely missing the chance to watch a game. He also found joy in exploring microbreweries, always eager to share a new discovery with friends and family.

He was equally devoted to his mission of “saving the world one can at a time,” collecting and recycling anything he could get his hands on—another small but earnest way he tried to make life better for others.

Curtis had a persistent drive to help others. He was committed to help those experiencing homelessness, often giving more of himself than he had to spare. He continued giving right up until the end, offering the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation. Despite his own struggles and flaws, he found his greatest worth by caring for others in need.

Curtis is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Larry Vest and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother Joyce Vest, brother Edward “Jeff” Vest (Lori), and sister Susan Rader (JD).

Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories during a visitation on Thursday, December 4th 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Asbury Church 980 Hughes Road, Building 2.
