Daniel "Danny" Patrick Finley, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2025. A devoted husband and loving father, Danny’s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Allison, and their two children, Abigail (11) and Nathan (10), who were the light of his life.
Danny was a proud graduate of Auburn University (2004), where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He went on to build an accomplished 18-year career at Northrop Grumman, where he was highly respected for his expertise, professionalism, and dedication to excellence.
Danny was also the go-to technology expert for his entire family. Whether it was setting up a new device, troubleshooting a stubborn program, or offering advice on the latest tech, he was always willing to help with patience and enthusiasm.
In addition to his excellence as an engineer and technology advisor Danny had a love of meteorology. Had he not pursued an engineering career he would have been a great weatherman. Anytime a storm, tornado or hurricane threatened he set up a weather station consisting of multiple tracking screens. The entire family depended on his advice and insights to keep them safe.
Born to Tim and Ellen Finley December 20, 1981, Danny was a caring son who brought pride and happiness to his family. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Gary Little (Robyn) , and mother-in-law, Janice Hollis (Little) Lowery, whom he held in high regard. Danny shared a close bond with his brother, Chris (Sandy), as well as his sister-in-law, Krista Riosa (Michael).
Danny will be remembered for his kind heart, strong values, and the warmth he brought to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held for Danny on Saturday June 21, 2025, at Legacy Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. All who knew and loved Danny are welcome to attend. Legacy Chapel is located at 16 Hughes Road, Madison, AL 35758.
In honor of Danny’s deep love of Auburn, we invite everyone to wear Orange and Blue to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Danny’s name to the American Heart Association.
