In loving memory of David T. Bevis (August 26, 1939 - September 13, 2023)



David T. Bevis, born in Lauderdale County, Alabama, on August 26, 1939, to Leo and Ina Bevis, passed away on September 13, 2023, in Madison, Alabama. His life was marked by adventures, service, and a career in real estate.



Growing up in the rural Waterloo area of Alabama, Dave enjoyed exploring the woods and bonding with his grandfather during fox hunts. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving for three years in Germany, Maryland, and Virginia.



Following his military service, Dave pursued a successful career in sales, eventually finding his passion in real estate. Known for his friendly nature and ability to connect with people, he excelled at helping others find their dream homes.



In Huntsville, Alabama, Dave met his wife Holly. They moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where they shared over 25 years of their lives together. In retirement, they returned to Alabama, dedicating time to family.



Dave Bevis is survived by his wife, Holly Russell, his children, Celisa Cappelen, Kara Wiren, and Drew Bevis. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Brett, Aundrea, Angela, Amanda, Hunter, and Gabe; six great-grandchildren; special cousins Wanda Halloway and Paula Stricklin; and special niece Kathryn.  



He was preceded in death by his parents; son Brian Bevis; siblings Peggy Irons, Donald Bevis. 



A graveside memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

 

Dave's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
