From there, he worked with M&M Air Service and Itec, Inc., honing his skills as a pilot. His passion for flight eventually led him to work as a Flight Engineer for DHL Airways from 1986 to 1989. However, Mike's love for music brought about a change in direction. He became the Director of Flight Operations Chief Pilot for the renowned music group AlabamA, responsible for coordinating all ground transportation until they sold their plane in 1994.

Mike's dedication to learning culminated in the completion of his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, TX in January 2001. With his newfound expertise, he opened an acupuncture practice in Huntsville later that same year.

Throughout his life's journey, Mike showcased not only his intelligence and diverse skill set but also his compassionate nature towards others. He was known as a kind, loving, and supportive friend, brother, son, and husband. Mike's generosity knew no bounds, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

One person who held a special place in Mike's heart was his younger brother Billy. Together, they embarked on countless flying adventures that filled their lives with laughter and unforgettable stories. Their bond was unbreakable. Additionally, Mike shared a unique connection with his father Jack, who proudly served as his best man at Mike's wedding.
