Gary Dean Hendrix, born January 17, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, MO, went to be with Jesus August 14, 2025. He is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Rebecca (Trace), son Matthew (Jett), daughter Sara, grandchildren Hannah (Chase), Mehgan (Peyton), Destany, Andra, Summer, Colby, Abby, and Ace, great-grandchildren Charlotte and Georgia, mother Betty, sister Marilyn, brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Lila, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Guy, brothers Steve, Michael, and Larry, father-in-law Dwight, and mother-in-law Lois.

Gary served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and in the Air National Guard for an additional 23 years. He also served in a civilian capacity with the U.S. Army for over 20 years in St. Louis, MO, and Huntsville, AL. An avid Missouri sports fan, you could often catch him armchair coaching the St. Louis Cardinals or Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved spending time tending his gardens and lawn, bowling in the church league, fishing with his father-in-law, coaching his son in little league baseball, and later in life, just being PawPaw to his grandkids.

Gary will be missed, but we rejoice that he is with Jesus, fully restored, making the angels laugh with all of his dad jokes.
