Gary Eugene Makemson

Gary Eugene Makemson, 75, passed away at his home in Madison, Alabama. Gary was born on July 21st, 1949, in Cullman, Alabama to Bessie and James, Sr. Makemson. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn and brother, James Jr (Diane). He was a devoted husband to Patricia for 56 years, a loving father to Amy and Matthew and a proud grandfather to Emily Grace. During his life, he served 4 dutiful years in the Marine Corp with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Afterwards, he enjoyed a successful career in sales and then as a minister with the Christian Broadcasting Network. His retirement years were full of family, travel and laughter. Funeral services will be held in Madison, Alabama at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home (16 Hughes Rd, Madison AL 35758) on July 24th at 2pm with visitation at 1pm. Burial immediately following in Cullman, Alabama at Cullman City Cemetery (9th St SW, Cullman AL 35055).
