Gaynell Tucker Beam, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at the age of 88.
Gaynell was born in Mobile, AL to Albert and Julia Tucker. She attended Mertz Elementary School and was a graduate of Murphy High School in 1955. On October 1 st , 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Ray Beam, Sr. Together, Kenneth and Gaynell raised two sons and began a beautiful family. In 1965 the Beam family moved to Huntsville, AL. Here they lived out their lives as their family grew to include four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Gaynell was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth R. Beam, Sr., her parents Albert and Julia Tucker, her sister Terry Fields and her great grandchild, David Beam. She is survived by her two sons Kenny (Wendy) of Franklin, Tennessee and Tom of Huntsville, Alabama, her four grandchildren: Brandon (Ché), Cassidy, Morgan and Curtis (Brandy) and her six great grandchildren: Colton, Hollis, Chad, Tessa, Mitchell, and Thomas.
Gaynell’s life found fulfillment in the things she loved most — sharing arts and crafts with friends, celebrating her sons’ achievements in sports and music, and offering her time and leadership to her church community.
Her professional life included service as a secretary with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and as a financial secretary at University Baptist Church. Gaynell loved to plan and participate in family gatherings. Trips from Huntsville to Mobile were quite common. She and her two sisters, Pat Stinson and Terry Fields, spent many years together researching Tucker, Reynolds, Beam, and Lane family genealogy.
Gaynell was strong in her Christian faith. She accepted Christ as her savior at age 10 and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. She found Christ faithful in his love for her and she strived every day to be more like him, leading her family to know and love Christ as well.
