Helen Vaughn Davis

Helen Vaughn Davis (born January 26th 1932) went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 9th 2024. Helen was a loving woman whose light shined brightly. She loved her Lord with all her heart, and she loved her family. She was always considerate of others throughout her life and mindful of their needs. 

She herself was a devoted caregiver, which seemed to be her calling. She had been educated as a nurse but married soon after college and never worked in the medical field, however she approached life caring for both the emotional and physical needs of those around her.

Helen never gave up on people. She would pray for an individual for years on end in great hope God would work in that person’s life. 

She treated everyone she met with the same interest and consideration, never showing indifference or acknowledgement of stations in life. She saw everyone as someone special to God and therefore should be special to her.

Helen was married to Herman K. Davis Sr (deceased) for 68 years and had three children; Herman Keith Davis Jr (deceased), Java Davis Bennett and Jan Rose Speed. She had 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Helen’s memorial service will be held at Legacy Chapel (16 Hughes Road, Madison AL 35758) Friday, July 12th 2024, at 2:00 pm. with visitation starting at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest with a graveside service at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 13th 2024, at Pine Bluff Cemetery (11188 Dentville Road, Hazlehurst, MS 39083). In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent to United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville and Tennessee Valley Inc. (1856 Keats Dr NW, Huntsville AL 35810).
