Jan Lowell Abernathy

Jan Lowell Abernathy passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29 th at his home at the Madison Manor in
Huntsville, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Abernathy, father, J. Roy Abernathy,
his mother Grace Abernathy, his sister, Luana (Dee) Kleppin, and his daughter, Theresa Irene Reynolds.

Jan grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and joined the U.S. Navy as a young man. He spent 22 ½ years in
the Navy serving his country and retired as a Radioman - Sr. Chief Petty Officer. He then went on to
work for Boeing where he continued working with communications. He lived his retirement years
enjoying traveling, friendships, Catholic church activities, and dabbling in real estate.

He is survived by his son, Michael D. Abernathy (Wife Kathy) of Norfolk, NE, six grandchildren, and
twelve great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Legacy Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, August 5 th at 11:00 AM.
