Joan Morrissey Dawson

Joan was born November 14, 1934 in Providence Rhode Island. The daughter of William and Marion Rudolph Morrissey. She enlisted in the Marine Corps. shortly after high school. She met her husband of 54 years, William Junior Dawson while stationed at Parris Island. Her career included nursing for special education students. She ended her employment doing what she loved, editing the written word for Air University Press. Joan is survived by Merry Gast (daughter), Lee Dawson (son) and Robert "Bob" Sowers (bonus son), four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, Millie Gleason (sister), Tom Cash (cousin) and many nieces and nephews.
