John proudly served his nation as a member of both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. His military service reflected the courage, discipline, and selflessness that defined his character throughout his life. After his retirement from military service, he continued to inspire those around him through his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tina-Jo Rothwell Betts; his two sons, William Betts and John Joseph Betts; his sisters, Jane and Betty; and his brother, Harry. He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and countless lives touched by his generosity and spirit.

John Lee Betts leaves a legacy of cherished memories, unforgettable stories, and a positive impact on the world he touched. His love for his family will forever live on through his lineage, for his greatest legacy was raising those who will continue to touch the world just as he did. His strength, guidance, humor, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
