On January 6, 2024 John Harris said goodbye to this life.

He was born at Fort Benning in Georgia on July 27, 1964 to Anne and Milton Harris. He is survived by his parents, his wife Alyce O’Sullivan Harris, his sister Kathy Harris Howard, sons David Overton, Bradley Scott Harris and Matthew John Harris. His step children: Patrick Smith, Joanna Smith and Benjamin Blach. He also has two grandchildren Grayson and Jaxon. Nieces Jennifer Roberts, Sara Allen, Samuel Howard, Julianne Howard and Lauren Howard and other family members.

John attended Hephzibah high school then went into the military. He was a dental lab technician. Upon discovering a heart condition, he was honorably discharged after 5 years. John lived in Boaz, AL before moving to Huntsville. He started an employment agency, a sports photography company, worked at A&M design screen printing with his parents. He also refereed soccer, basketball and baseball games. As he got older, he followed his passion for creativity. After several years and much practice he became a Special Effects Makeup Artist. He worked on several movies like Zombieland Double Tap, Office Uprising, Truth or Dare, Black Water, Jiu Jitsu and one of Bruce Willis’ last films Wrong Place, and so many more! He was an avid Scuba Diver, Motorcyclist , Dart player, World Traveler and Gold Miner. When he wasn’t working on films, he made masks and sold them at several Halloween stores in the area. Recently he was learning to create beautiful jewelry from gold he found in Alaska. No project was ever too big, John would always figure it out. He took care of his family and took care of his beautiful acreage. John would go out of his way to help any time and he was a friend to everyone. He always did several kind acts wherever he went. Services will be at Legacy Chapel on Hughes Road Sunday the 14th of January. Visitation will begin at 11:00a, followed by a service at 1:00p lead by Pastor Tim Milner of Essential Church.
