Born on May 1, 2003, in Huntsville, AL, Joshua graduated from James Clemens High School in 2021 and earned an AS degree from Calhoun Community College in 2024. He was pursuing a BS degree in Religious Studies from Athens State University, aspiring to become a youth pastor. Joshua was deeply devoted to his Christian faith and his health struggles only drew him closer to God. He was an active member of Asbury Church, serving as an intern during the summer of 2021 and supporting local and international missions, including a trip to assist an orphanage in Costa Rica. He also served as a student leader for Asbury Students.
Joshua was a cherished staff member at Asbury Thrift Store for several years. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to worship music, playing disc golf, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family in the mountains and at the beach.
A celebration of Joshua’s life will be held on June 7, 2025, at 4:00 pm in the traditional sanctuary at Asbury Church on Hughes Road in Madison, AL. Visitation for friends will precede the service from 2:30 - 4:00 pm at Asbury. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the church fellowship hall. Pastors Tommy Gray and Garrett Howell, who were inspirational faith leaders to Joshua, will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joshua’s life.
Allison and Tim would like to thank their family, community, church, friends, coworkers and Joshua’s medical team for all the support through the years. Specials thanks to Dr. Jan Lawley and Dr. Michael Lawley for being great friends and a sounding board through this journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online or directly to Asbury Church in memory of Joshua to support the student and college ministries. We Are Asbury.
Joshua’s joy for life will be deeply missed on this earth, but his legacy lives on through his testimony, witness, and faith. Joshua 1:9 – Be strong and courageous.
