Kelly Jean Olszewski

Kelly Jean Olszewski, lovingly known as "Shortie," was born on October 8, 1963, in Tawas City, Michigan. She embarked on her life's journey filled with laughter, zest for life, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. On August 17, 2023, we bid farewell to Kelly as she peacefully passed away in Huntsville, Alabama.

Kelly's warmhearted nature touched the lives of many throughout her accomplished career spanning over 20 years in banking across North Alabama. She worked tirelessly and diligently, leaving a lasting impact on multiple banks and events like Big Spring Jam. Known for her financial expertise, Kelly shared her wisdom with others and taught everyone how to correctly face their money.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kelly will forever be cherished for her nurturing spirit and the love she poured into those around her. Each year, she delighted family and friends by conjuring up a spectacular feast of holiday desserts that brought joy to all. Always kind-hearted and generous, Kelly ensured that even Wally had to share those delectable treats with everyone at work.

When not soaring in her career or mastering culinary delights, Kelly immersed herself in various hobbies. She found solace through the art of cross-stitch, puzzles, and gardening, cultivating beautiful blooms and a thriving vegetable patch. Embracing adventure was second nature to Kelly; she relished traveling extensively and exploring new destinations near and far. A cruise or a visit to one of many Margaritaville destinations held a special place in her heart because it was always 5 O'clock Somewhere. Her dearest rescue pups also brought immeasurable joy into her life.

Sports enthusiasts might recognize the sparkle in Kelly's eyes whenever she cheered on the Trash Pandas, Havoc, Jimmie Johnson, or any green team. Her enthusiasm knew no bounds as she avidly followed their endeavors and celebrated their victories.

Kelly's magnetic personality and vivacious presence were irreplaceable. Her laughter had the power to light up any room, creating an unforgettable atmosphere wherever she went. A true social butterfly, Kelly enjoyed staying busy by connecting with friends and family, crafting cherished memories, and treasuring precious time spent together.

Kelly is survived by her devoted husband, Wally Olszewski of Huntsville. Together they created a foundation of love and support that will endure for eternity. She leaves behind her loving children Stephanie (Seth) Butler of Harvest and Courtney (Nick) Olszewski of California. Kelly's legacy also lives on through her adoring grandchildren, Theo and Sutton, who were a constant source of pride and joy. Their smiles brightened her world.

She will be forever missed by her father Ralph Short, brother Dustin Short, brother Chet Short, and sister Teaalisa (Ricky) Kolarik all of Michigan. Kelly's memory will forever be carried in the hearts of countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews who held a special place in her affectionate heart. She is preceded in death by her mother Joyce Short, stepmother Audrey Short, father- and mother-in-law Jerry and Julie Olszewski, and brother Rustin Short.
