LINDA DARLENE COBB-COOMES

Linda Darlene Cobb-Coomes, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on February 3rd, 2024, in Madison Alabama.

Born in Moberly, Missouri on August 8^th, 1956, to Samuel Charles Cobb Jr. and Darlene Lillie Mae Spangler-Cobb. Linda was bright and energetic, a woman who loved life and those around her. She made a life taking care of her four children and impacting the lives of her seven grandchildren over the years. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years David Eugene Coomes, married May 18^th, 1973. Together they had two daughters: Emily Jill Coomes Johnson (late husband Byron Johnson), Michaela Ann Coomes Howard (husband Jason Howard) and two sons: Scott Wayne Coomes (wife Haley Mills Coomes) and Chase Evan Coomes (wife Jordan Maples Coomes). 

Linda was an amazing woman who touched many lives with her kindness and caring heart. She was treasured by everyone she met and is fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She built deep friendships across the United States and abroad, always opening her home to loved ones and those in need. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, two sons, seven grandchildren (Mason, Andrew, Evan, Kayden, Bentlee, Sophia, and Mykah), two brothers (Sam and Randy Cobb), cousin (Bruce Hess). Linda is preceded by her parents Sam and Darlene Cobb, and sister Elizabeth Ann Cobb Barnett.

Interment will be in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama at a later date.
