Paul Autry Burrow

Paul Burrow, 89, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026.

Born on April 29, 1937, in Asheboro, North Carolina, Paul spent most of his life in the community he loved. In 2022, he and his wife moved to Alabama to be near their daughter.

Paul was a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church in Randleman, North Carolina, where he remained a faithful member for more than 50 years. His faith was reflected in the kindness, generosity, and compassion he showed to everyone he met.

Paul spent nearly 40 years as an over-the-road truck driver with Overnite Transportation, a career that brought him great pride and satisfaction. Over the course of his career, he drove enough miles to circle the globe approximately 40 times and retired with a perfect safety record. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family, demonstrating dedication, integrity, and an unmatched work ethic.

Paul enjoyed fishing, gathering with his breakfast buddies for good food and conversation, and taking pride in his beloved Dodge Dakota pickup truck. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures and the friendships he built along the way.

Above all else, though, Paul loved his family. He loved his wife, daughter, and extended family deeply and devoted himself to their happiness and well-being. He had a heart as big as anyone could imagine and found genuine joy in helping others. Whether helping someone in need, offering encouragement, or stopping to pray with a stranger, Paul’s giving spirit touched countless lives.

Those who knew Paul personally will remember his easy smile, sense of humor, and generous heart. His greatest legacy is not measured in miles driven or years worked, but in the countless acts of kindness he extended to others and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Evelyn Burrow, and his daughter, Janet Gray, both of Madison, Alabama; his sister, Louise Swaney of Asheboro, North Carolina; his sister, Gloria Easterling of Rockingham, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
