Percy N. Lanier

Mr. Percy Lanier was born on January 13, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama.  He was one of four sons; he was the first son born to the union of Charlie and Katie Lanier.  He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Jacqueline B. Lanier.  He departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Percy was a loving and devoted father and husband, taking care of his two daughters after the passing of his wife.  

Percy was also well educated, earning both a bachelor of science degree and a master degree in Political Science, while attending numerous colleges.  He became Director of Student  Financial Aid at Alabama A & M for many years before retiring and later accepting a position a Miles College, where he also held the position of Director of Student Financial Aid for many more years, prior to his illness.

He leaves to cherish and honor his memory: two daughters, Toni Lanier Humphrey of Huntsville, Alabama and Sabrina Lanier-Roman (John) of Pleasant View, Tennessee, one granddaughter: Simone Lanier Johnson, of Birmingham, Alabama, one grandson: Dewayne Humphrey, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama, two great granddaughters: Sabella E. Lanier and Samicha Brooks of Birmingham, Alabama, one great grandson: August P. Lanier of Birmingham, Alabama, three brothers: Charles Lanier of Birmingham, Alabama, Joel Lanier (Lynn) of Richford, Conneticut, Victor Lanier of Birmingham, Alabama, and one aunt, he loved dearly, Ms. NettieJo Summers of Birmingham, Alabama and many more relatives and friends.
