Spencer Wayne Speer

Spencer Wayne Speer, age 87, died on October 29, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Wayne was a Huntsville native and graduated from Butler High School in 1955. He worked many years as a contract specialist with NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center, and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. Wayne served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at several local Baptist churches over the years. 

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Norma Ruth Speer; his sons, Brian, Mark, and Neil; his daughter-in-laws Julie (Brian), Shelley (Mark), and Linda K. (Neil); and his grandchildren David, Sarah Kate, Jason, Eric, and Daniel. 

A visitation will be held on November 1, 2024, at Legacy Chapel Funeral Home in Madison, Alabama, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
